Horses

Anyone who has done much horseback riding has noticed that horses tend to move at a sluggish pace when they leave the barn, and at a more exuberant pace when they think they are going back home. It seems to be a common trait in horses. They have a homing instinct.

Over a long career as a rancher and cowboy, I have ridden both Quarter Horses and Arabians, but have a preference for the Arabians. Even though small and light-boned, they are tough and durable.
